38 Weeks And A Birthday

  • I had a baby shower hosted by my friend in the ward on Saturday. The turnout was pretty small because most of my friends had left town for Christmas already, but it was a great shower with wonderful people and I’m so grateful that I was thought of.

  • We had maternity pictures taken! I’ll put some of them up in the next post. We LOVE them!

  • Levi’s weekend started yesterday, so we were able to move the furniture around the apartment to get everything ready for the Baby C. Now I feel much more calm and relaxed about the idea of him coming at any time.

  • As far as discomforts go, it’s really not that bad. I don’t know if I’ve just been lucky or have a higher tolerance to discomfort or what. I’ve got all the things that I’ve heard others complain about (backaches, lack of sleep, feet hurting, etc) but I feel like I haven’t had anything bad enough to be worth a whine. I think my swelling is kind of funny, though. My ankles and feet are fine, even when I’m on my feet for several hours. However, my right hand—and ONLY my right hand—becomes a complete balloon while I’m sleeping. Nothing else has been affected by swelling. It’s almost become a game to wake up and see just how fat/immobile my right fingers got during the night!

  • On Thursday I turned 24! It was a very relaxing day, and I hardly did anything productive. (All the better that Levi was home yesterday. We needed to catch up on what I didn’t do Thursday.) After Levi came home from work we went out to The Prado, a beautiful restaurant in Balboa Park. The food was amazing! I’m not really a big steak/meat person, but I swear I could have eaten 5 lbs of the steak that I had! And the roasted duck Levi had was to die for. It didn’t come cheap, but thankfully we had a gift card from Levi’s work that covered it. Our waiter was a sweetheart and put together a delicious cream cheese flan with caramel sauce, with fruit and sweet tomatillo sauce on the side, for my birthday. Since there was cream cheese in it, I got to eat it all myself!
Pretty food

Yummy dessert!

How about this piece of fine artistry? Antlers, frisbees and mushrooms, all in one lamp! These were all over the restaurant and made me laugh because they were so random and didn't really go with the rest of the decor.
